Who are we?

Camino Research (‘CAMINO’) is an independent Market Research Agency. CAMINO designs and conducts market research in Australia. The security of any and all personal information that we collect is of the utmost importance to us and our clients.

What kinds of personal information do we collect and hold?

The kinds of personal information that we collect will vary depending upon our interaction with you, but may include:

  • Your age
  • Your gender
  • Geographic location
  • Any preferences or profiling information that you tell us about, and
  • Any other personal information which may be required in order to facilitate your dealings
    with us.

All information collected will be through information volunteered by you through your participation in a CAMINO survey. All information will be provided anonymously, with no attempt to identify participants, unless required for further dealings. If an identifying detail is needed (for example, to inform winners of a prize draw in a survey), CAMINO will provide an option to not give that information. We will not supply any sensitive information about you to any third party without consent.

For what purposes do we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information?

CAMINO only uses personal information for the primary purpose for which we have collected it, or for another closely related second purposes. The information gathered will be used for the purpose of business research, the development of new products and services, or to provide a better service. As part of this purpose, we may need to disclose your personal information to others including our clients and/or our suppliers.

CAMINO will NOT use your personal information for the purposes of direct marketing. No identifying personal information will be provided to clients, and all information will only be shown in aggregate.

How do we protect your personal information?

CAMINO takes reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, disclosure or loss. These steps include the use of encryption systems, passwords and firewalls. CAMINO employees are required, as a condition of their employment, to treat personal information held by CAMINO as confidential.

Do we disclose personal information to overseas recipients?

Any and all information provided to overseas recipients will only be provided in aggregate, with no personal and sensitive information provided.

Access and Correction

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have a right to request access to the personal information that CAMINO holds about you and seek its correction. If you wish to do this, please send a request by email to [email protected].

Please include your contact details such as email address and telephone number and enclose a copy of a form of identification such as a current driver’s licence or passport. We will not charge you for making such a request but will let you know if there is a cost for supplying you with access to or correcting the personal information. We aim to respond to requests for access or correction within 30 days. There are certain situations under the Australian Privacy Principles where we may refuse to provide you with access to or correct your personal information but we will always let you know in writing if this is the case.
